June2009 Travel

SLC and the ride south along State Routes 89,24 & 12...

Cousin Gene and Jan and I had dinner at Olive Garden. Good food. Good company.

The Blue Buffalo is across the street from the Utah State Capitol.

Spring City pioneer home #1. for the most part Spring City has renovated its old pioneer homes. nice.

Spring City pioneer home #2 is across the street from #1.

Leaving Spring City you come across this view... their reservoir.

Coral Reef is just too large to get it into one photo. Pretty cool.

these aspens are at about 8500 ft elevation, going south on state route 24 (SR24)

Cedar tree on a rock. That tree is about 50 or 60 feet tall. Everywhere it looked like I was in Zion National Park. This is really cool country.

Rolling along at 9000 ft elevation, the road falls off on both sides almost straight down. Please, only pull off in designated areas! This designated area shows this big gorge in the rock. That gorge is actually a state regional park of sorts (over night camping and recreational activities), thousands of feet lower from this spot. Its all rock. Purely magnificent

After driving down the road a ways I came to a view that gives us a peek back into the park.

The road was on the 'rock'. The views are spectacular. Motorcyclists touring were abundant.

This is a view of a stream on the back side of Bryce Canyon. the park is miles away. The views along SR24 & SR12 are incredible. I whole heartedly recommend taking this route for yourself.

Inside Bryce Canyon I was able to get some pix around sunset.

Another view of Bryce around sunset.
